Akkus: 3G in Transportation
Grandfather, father and son… Three generation in transportation market since 1950s and today Akkus became a well known company in special oversize goods in Turkey. It all started in late 1950s with our grandfather Mustafa Kemal Cürebal with Jemse brand name truck. He started transporting wood logs from Akkus, the town where he was born and raise, to near towns till he bought bigger truck Dodge Fargo and continue working in nation wide. His son, Ismail Cürebal started working with him to carry goods to/from Iran in 1980 till 1985. Then he moved to Istanbul to expand his experience and work for special oversize goods transportation. Soon he became one of the best in the special equipment and goods transportation in Turkey. With his years of experience in the business and the hard jobs he has done he earned respects from the firms and transportation companies.
Akkus has done the impossible and start moving the work machines which were belong to Enka Co. to Moscow, Russia before the country open their Iron Doors to the world in 1990. The company was growing rapidly and continue doing international special equipment transportations and become a brand name. In 1995 today's Akkus Agir Nakliyat was established as a LTD. company with the founder of the company Ismail Cürebal and his son, Tarik Curebal.
What kind of logistics services does the company Akkus give to its customers?
Akkus Agir Nakliyat offers local, national and international transportation, loading unloading service to its customers for up to 50m long, 8m wide and 250 ton/piece weighed all kind of goods and equipments.
Akkus Agir Nakliyat has established partnership over years with companies in North Ireland, United Kingdom, Netherland, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Iran, Afghanistan Morocco, Libya.
Akkus also provides to it's customers sea transport, raiway transport, river transport and air transport according to the customers needs.
The Company has comminucation offices in Rotterdam and Baku.
“Akkus Agir Nakliyat” is member of WCAPN (World Cargo Alliance Project Network). Convoi-Exceptionel Network and Heavy Lift Network.
What kind of cargoes does company carries and can you give some examples from unique project cargoes that Akkus had carried so far (very heavy, very oversized ones)?
The Company specialized but not limited to carry following goods; Boats, Steel Constructions, All kind of work machines, Earth moving equipments, Cranes, Storage tanks, Boilers, Furnes, Injection Molding Machines, Press Machines, Ship Doors, Power Plant Wings and Rotors, Reactors, Engines, Ship Shafts, Transformators, Jenerators, Turbins etc.
Also Akkus Agir Nakliyat takes care of customers project tansportation needs. Recenlty we are moving a complete By Pass Pipe and it's equipments (with 5 regular 5 open and lowbed total of 10 trucks all in ones from Ayas, Ankara/Turkey to Dante Dravce, Lucenec, Slovakia) which belongs to Dante Elektraren, the electric manifacturing company owned by Slovakian Goverment.
One of the most exciting transport we have done is the Ark Furnace Cooling Cover . It's diameter was 7m, 2m high 16ton. We have transported it from Izmit to Iskenderun, Yazici Iron&Steel.
